beginnings, Middles, and Endings

For Writers of Fiction

Plot is more than beginnings, middles, and endings, but they are necessary to write a memorable story.

Beginnings grab the reader, the middle must sustain the reader, and the ending must leave the reader satisfied, intrigued, or wondering what’s next.

In this workshop you will work with the beginnings of the story, as well as the beginnings of scenes and chapters, how to ensure the middle doesn’t drag, and how to choose among a variety of possible endings.

This workshop is for writers of fiction and memoir.  If you have written several chapters or the entire book, and you are now thinking of doing some rewriting, this workshop will help you fine-tune those beginnings and endings and assess the middle of the book to ensure there is tension throughout.
